I wanted to share a tool that's been a game-changer for me and our team in improving our English skills. Maybe it can help you too. And we'd love to hear your thoughts on the product, ideas, or language journey stories. So, at Pronounce, we've built an AI language learning app that helps non-natives boost English speaking-related skills: verbal fluency, pronunciation, and listening comprehension.
THE BACKSTORY
It all began when our main founder, a non-native English speaker, moved to the US and faced English struggles. Fast forward a few years, with teamwork, collaboration with speech coaches and industry experts, and diving into language learning research, we created a product that really delivers results, unlike many others. We named it Pronounce.
THE PRODUCT
In a nutshell:
Pronounce checks your speech and gives you near-instant feedback on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, speaking pace, pauses, and filler words. Alongside feedback, you receive paraphrasing suggestions and personalized exercises. As you conquer your biggest mistakes, the app shifts to other areas to keep your progress going. To stay on track, you get a daily practice plan, reports, and notifications.
How you can use it:
1) You can record your speech during audio calls, virtual meetings, or even while practicing solo if you lack real-life conversations.
2) You can read aloud suggested copies or any other material – it's great for prepping for public speaking, for example.
3) You can discuss suggested or your own topics with our AI speech bots.
4) You can select text on web pages and ask our Chrome Extension to read it out.
Talking to AI:
We have 16 AI characters with popular English accents (American, British, Australian, and Indian). You can tweak their speaking pace to match your comfort level, read subtitles, and switch between characters to listen to the phrase in a different accent, for instance.
