Apple users bash new iPhone 15: ‘Innovation died with Steve Jobs’ (nypost.com)

What do people expect? We aren't gonna get an iPhone 1 \ iPhone 4 \ iPhone X leap every year. There just isn't that much you can do, no matter how good your designers or engineers are. We've reached a natural plateau.

I'm not saying there's no room for improvement, certainly we're seeing some great leaps on the software and chipset side with AI and stuff, but the hardware has to stabilize a bit eventually. Arguably that's a good thing. Nobody is forcing you to upgrade and not having to saves you a thousand bucks a year.

I'm against changing stuff for the sake of changing it. That's how you end up with 'one step forward, two steps back' kind of changes. I'd rather them make sensible, steady improvements than make stuff different just for the sake of looking fresh.

"Apple users" means a handful of Twitter users according to nypost.

iPhone 15 pro is now same weight as old iphone 6s plus, which is impressive considering the screen is bigger, camera bigger, battery bigger (2750 > 3650 mAh).

Action button is on right track in terms of customisation. I think more can be done, perhaps even a second action button, or custom LED light for notifications. I just want to glance at phone on table to see if I have message from specific contacts.

It’s a stable platform idk what people want. The iPod didn’t innovate much after the first couple. Apple never really innovates anyway they just clean up a buggy existing product group and make it more streamlined. What piece of hardware do people expect them to go after. I think they have all the personal devices covered except maybe eReaders

Incrementalism was part of Apple’s DNA with Jobs. Apple literally created the market for wearables after he died. I remember how cringe Apple Watches were in 2014, yet here we are.

NY Post is always making mountains out of molehills
