Every year is likely to be the hottest year on record, for the rest of our lives. If some year happens to offer a temporary reprieve, that will be news.


Unfortunately, probably not. This year is warmer for having an El Nino. Next year will likely be cooler -- though probably warmer than 2022.

Which means that climate deniers will start using 2023 for their graphs "proving" that the world is actually cooling. Just as they did for every local peak in temperature. For many years they drew graphs starting in 1998, another El Nino year. Now, it's not even in the top 10.
