I can recommend the Air Quality Life Index (AQLI) map [1] if you like to know the particular effect of the air polullution on your life expectancy in a specific region or city.
People don't worry about air pollution until it's too late. I'm thankful for things like the EPA clean air act and the global prohibition of CFCs, but more needs to be done.
My favorite website for monitoring air quality is IQair[0]. They have a global map of air pollution that's really interesting to see. Fun fact, they actually didn't build it themselves, they acquired a scrappy startup called AirVisual and just rebranded all their tech (interactive globe included).
