MS: we like "open standards", here is our implementation specific stuff.
Amazon: we don't care what would be with a project. If it is open source - we host it and get money. If it dies - people will use our closed source solutions.
Google: XMPP is soo open, we like XMPP. Oh, now Web is soo open, we like Web (we even have a browser, wondering what would happen once everyone is using one browser).
