We Used A.I. To Write Essays for Harvard, Yale and Princeton. Here’s How It Went (nytimes.com)

A very shallow and poorly researched article. Click bait.

Quoting the author - "...high school seniors hoping to stand out may need to do wholesale rewrites of the texts they prompt A.I. chatbots to generate. Or they could just write their own — chatbot-free — admissions essays from scratch."

The author didn't attempt a single prompt engineering technique published on the first few pages of OpenAI, Bard, or Claude documentation. The conclusion they draw without having even tried to learn how to use LLMs is vacuous.
