Also add SponsorBlock in there. It not only blocks sponsors but also filler content like intros and endings, random joke tangents etc. Just set them up in the settings as they're not all blocked by default.
And if you really like a certain creator, there are whitelists too.
Can't they see how many people skip in-video ads though? Couldn't advertisers request that information? I would feel a bit bad about using it since in-video ads are a fairly reasonable and ethical way for them to make money, which tjej need to life (assuming the ads are for ethical products).
YouTube scraped my view history for years with it turned off, for recommendations. YouTube shows me a non-stop deluge of outright scam ads, dozens of times a day, and that's when it's not showing me the creep-crotch shot of a cheerleader ad. (I've reported it countless times)
I'm not rewarding any of their behavior. I don't care if I'm sort some of hypocrite, they're scummy and I will never give them a dime.
