Wait, are you talking about outside parking? I thought, since you were talking about a city, it was some kind of underground parking for multi-story buildings. So you wouldn't exactly put up a new structure, just "isolate" your parking spot. This would just concern the homeowners' association, so it could, possibly, be easier than involving the city bureaucracy.
Oh, yeah, I was. While underground parking does certainly exist, it’s not all that common yet. (Again, quite a few old buildings and lots of smaller housing units …) I’m actually not sure how this would go down in an underground parking structure.
