This phrase sets of the same alarm bells for me as “think of the children”.
It was the main argument made by proponents of tobacco, climate change, asbestos, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, HFCS, DDT, etc, etc.
There has been strong evidence that PFAS causes severe health issues since at least the mid 1990’s.
People can always use weasel words like “some studies show there may be a correlation” (and leave out the p=99.99999 from the cited studies).
