Qt is also 100% open/free. In fact, both are available under the LGPL, just that wxWidgets also grants an exception to not have to distribute application sources even when statically linked:

it's more complex than that,otherwise Qt has dominated cross platform GUI. it's a maze to navigate Qt's license landmine zone.


The positive side of that is Qt is more polished than wxWidgets.


true. new 3.2 release looks great now and I am spending all my time these weeks to use it for a cross platform GUI project.


How is it more complex? As far as I know, they release the Qt libraries and tools in a dual L/GPL-commercial license.
