I'm always blown away by how good the frame rates are in classic Jeff Minter games, vs what other people were doing on the same hardware.

I don't recall playing any of these games back in the day, but looking at videos now, they're fantastic.

These days I follow him on YouTube and Mastodon mainly for videos and photos of his pet sheep and llama.

(Watching other people raise sheep on TV is dangerous, because if my wife sees them she will want some of her own and next thing you know we'll be putting in fences and barns and I will have 5x as many chores and responsibilities and vet bills..)


I never understood anything that was happening in that game.


neither did i but the speed was mesmerizing


Thanks for writing this. Loved this game, purchased from Jeff at a computer show or other in London. #FFFF is 65,535 BTW, not 65,532. Great to finally learn how fast-loader etc worked.
