Twitter under fire for reinstating account that posted child sex abuse (washingtonpost.com)

It's unclear what was posted, because the account claims it was to attract attention to the abuse, not to show it, so systems for detecting known such content would've detected it as a frame of a video of known such content, but it doesn't mean the image itself showed such activity.

I'm not saying this in defense of anyone, as the account in question is a troll who posts anything for attention, Elon's the same. But the media is also the same.

Musk says no one outside Twitter saw these tweets, but WaPo categorizes them as "child sex abuse" just by assumption, because it'll attract attention to their article.

I'm so sick of this society.

I don't think you read the article thoroughly. They note more people saw them. Also the headline is accurate, it is why the account was banned and the designation is explained in the article.

I'm sick of internet nihilists muddying the water and making useless noise.

Musk said the images were never shown to users. Source:

Although in retrospect I guess my bad for believing what he said once.

The article quotes that tweet in the third paragraph. It doesn't link to the tweet, but the contents of the tweet are included word-for-word.

And then in the next paragraph the article notes the view and retweet counts that the tweet received (as read from a cached version of the tweet).

Egg on my face. Etc.
