Corsair is buying DIY mechanical keyboard brand Drop (arstechnica.com)

It’s unfortunate that Massdrop became “mechanical keyboard brand Drop.” It was really a great site to find really cool things that people voted on that you couldn’t really get anywhere else at a decent price. It used to have 20+ categories from Ultralite to Cooking to Quilting, now it has 3: Audiophile, Battlestations, and Mechanical Keyboards. What happened?

If Corsair treats Drop like they've treated Elgato, this could be a great acquisition for them. Elgato is still amazing; I actually didn't know that Corsair owned them until I downloaded the Control Center app for my lights!

interesting hope this allows them to have a EU warehouse to ship from

Likewise, cool stuff from the EU or China that don't have it warehoused in the US makes it a drag waiting a long time for shipping and customs to get. Minor gripe, but I want it now :)

Rest in peace, massdrop keyboards
