It's actually an amazing way of being hostile towards said service.

- Using up their resources, for free, while looking like one of their clients

- Not displaying any of their ads, costing them even more

- If they want to stop this, they have to dedicate resources to do so, which costs them money.

- Stopping this most likely means making their own app worse, leading to a worse experience, leading to fewer users and therefore, costing them money.
