I doubt he ever actually believed that. He was likely just trying to keep his investments alive. Much prior to that he bought Myspace and all the servers/storage and literally the next day there was a big empty space in one of my data-centers. They moved the HP SureStore racks and all the HP-UX servers somewhere else and turned it into a social media site. Prior to that it was the M: or Z: drive on many peoples computers.
