People can simp for Reddit all they want, but this such a disaster that I don’t see any way out of it long term. They have to be responding to pressures were unaware of because their behavior and planning around this has been so unbelievably stupid that I can’t believe incompetence or a misstep explains it.


I dunno, incompetence explains quite a lot. The petulant tone Huffman has taken towards 3rd party developers right from the start makes it pretty clear that he's just immature and unprofessional. This kind of chaos is par for the course when it comes to bad leadership.


No way this "all caps" headline isn't going to get spruced up by dang into something less "grabby" / more digestable / less click-baity

The YC connection to Reddit is pretty weak after 15 years but people still have strong perceptions about these things.
