Malicious compliance, but oh so sweet; I wish more subs would follow instead of ceding to blackmail. For example, /r/Apple could institute a rule that all posts must be pictures of apples (if the subscribers so choose by majority vote).

This is so fun to watch.

Say this point I predict Reddit's PR mismanagment of this whole situation will be tought in business schools as a classic example of what not to do

When herding cats, do not take away the catnip.

Smart, if Reddit is going to play strike-breaker, fight back accordingly.

This is getting old. The subreddit moderators may be able to make noise now but at some point the users will move on to other subreddits and forget the ones that are making so much noise. Ultimately, Reddit owns the platform and can do as they please. A year from now all this will be noise that everyone has forgotten.

At this point, if they want to actually make changes, they need to move on to a decentralized platform and bring as many users as they can over to the new platform. If they don't, they are just wasting away their influence until they have none.

Hopefully they will move on to a different platform and let Reddit go the way of Slashdot and Digg.
