He's an outspoken supporter[0] of the Online Safety Bill, which would effectively outlaw end-to-end encryption and mandate backdoors to "protect the children." A more accurate description of A16Z's move here is that they don't care about invasive and oppressive regulations as long as those regulations don't impact their bottom line, but I suppose "let us keep dodging taxes and privacy regulations and we'll help you spy on your citizens" doesn't have quite the same ring.
