From the chart, it looks like it made daily sign-ups increase to around 2.5x the normal rate. That's certainly a good month, but the article also notes the policy caused cancelations.

I personally removed my account, but my T-Mobile subscription includes a free version. Wonder how that gets counted

Hopefully they invest this money back in to creating more decent shows and movies.
