No, it did not. "It wiped out an entire company's global supply" is how the Guardian put it [1], right under an almost equally misleading click-bait headline. Only to continue wiggling around the fact that even that is an exaggeration.

More like COVID caused the shortage (filming in 2022) and this just exacerbated it.

This is just paid viral promotional material to keep the movie top-of-mind until release.
