It is self-evident that you only need vision to drive. The question is whether you can make a computer smart enough to leverage vision to do it.

Why is it self-evident? If your argument is that people can drive with only vision let me stop you right there and point to the fact that people are terrible drivers and the bill is in millions of injured and dead a year.

You listen to the road condition.

You sense the road bumping.

You feel the acceleration.

Your eye have better dynamic range.


We aren't arguing about easy stuff, we are arguing about radar / lidar being necessary.
