I saw CNBC interview Kotick at the Berkshire/Buffett shareholder meeting, and it was... surreal. No mention of anything negative, Kotick was presenting himself as homey and down to Earth, and the hosts were eating it up.
Finance world sees Actiblizz through a completely different lens.
To be fair, Kotick likely sees himself that way. Wealth often blinds folks to the lives of non-wealthy people. Extreme wealth can induce people to act in ways that appear outright delusional to the rest of us. (And quite often the behavior can be quantifiably delusional.)
But he also undoubtedly considers himself to be a good person, and it's unlikely other similarly wealthy people will have the necessary perspective to call him out on it.
Well not everyone in finance world is uber wealthy. Even setting aside the workplace conditions thing and his salary, the quality and cadence of Blizzard's new releases... They are coasting on old games. It does not seem sustainable.
