Guys, I'm going to say it: all these gender equity posts are written by midwits. Just like La Sombrita, all gender equity stuff is done by people unable to do real things that have value.
It's a tax we were willing to pay when things were good because we had the money and these people were harmless.
But now, there is not that much spare wealth to throw at this sort of indulgent bullshit. And these people started believing that what they said was actually true sort of like your kid brother thinking he actually beat you at chess.
Enough with this. Go make something. Anything that isn't more blog posts about how women have no agency or ability and only do jobs others give them.
There's things that need doing and women can do them. Enough of the learned helplessness.
An 'extinction-level event sized asteroid' is projected to hit the planet around 09:14 on January the 12th, 2024 and is predicted to annihilate all terrestrial life forms.
Women and people of colour will be most affected, study shows.
If all you have is a hammer everything is a nail. Similarly if all you studied is gender theory or women's studies all problems are related to gender theory or women's studies.
> The distribution of genders across occupations reflects the biases deeply rooted in our society, with women often being confined to roles such as administrative assistants and secretaries
There are many causes that explain the distribution of genders across occupations. This kind of univariate, knee-jerk analysis is comforting, I'm sure, because you can explain everything through a single lens, but I seriously doubt that bias is even in the top five most significant factors that explains the distribution.
Discussing secretaries and admin assistants is so 20th century. These kinds of jobs, aside from maybe the one for the head shed or the also-HR person in smaller companies were destroyed by the growth of the PC.
Could whomever down voted this point out where secretaries and admin's fulfill traditional roles, especially in N America? People I knew saw them disappear in the 2000-2005 timeframe in the Northeast and I've not heard of any occurrence since. It would be good if these positions still existed as these, coupled with teaching, was a good second-partner job/career for families with children.
That is my concern, companies will be rushing to AI as a way of getting rid of people, especially with call centers. I hope some regulations are passed were an "AI" must clearly identify itself as such when dealing with people.
AI is saving people the bother of attempting to please others by churning out trite prose, so you have time to be even more idiosyncratic if that's what you really want.
