Why post at all? In fact, posting ad-hominems instead of actually discussing the story is against the site rules. You can flag stories you don't think should be posted, it will save you having a public hissy fit.
Oh, I was not aware before posting, sorry! All I knew was that he is a professor of law at Queen’s University. So are his claims in this article false?
Edit: I looked into it, and according to the testimony of the father in that case [1], and supported by the tribunal decision he directly links [2], the article is accurate.
Perhaps we should ask why only "right-wingers" are reporting on this case. One would naively think such a clear case of systemic racial discrimination would draw the interest of big names, like the New York Times or Washington Post. Or at least the CBC.
First of all, it's not an article, it's an opinion piece. It looks like yet another angry white man (uh oh, spot my racism...) screaming "discrimination!" and fanning the flames of "Look at us, we're being disadvantaged!".
IMHO, advantaged white people screaming for "equality!" is basically saying "I don't want the short people to have extra boxes!": http://i2.wp.com/interactioninstitute.org/wp-content/uploads... .. maybe this cartoon would be better if the tall person is sitting comfortably on his box.
Whether the program made sense or not because the dad said the black kids in his son's school didn't look disadvantaged (honestly, I wonder how carefully he looked...), is a different question. And if we're going to some place like W. Virginia where even the white people are suffering, I would agree offering help to just non-whites would be concerning.
