There's such an incredible gap between corporate levels of money & human levels. To hire & pay people takes sooo much money. A couple $20/mo services per employee don't really make a huge dent. But man, to people the costs just keep adding up & are definitely real. Corporate world is so decoupled from the rest of the planet.
True, in my company we are paying around 500k/month. Said that the 10k/month for slack vs rocket chat on k8s totally worth it. Users are happy, Admins even happier.
