Ask HN: Simple, low-maintenance startup blog platform?
3 points by MasterScrat on May 8, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 5 comments
We work in the generative AI space and regularly have users coming up with very nice use cases of our platform.

We'd like to showcase their work (with their permission/collaboration of course). Currently we post about them on Reddit, Twitter and LinkedIn. However we'd prefer to move this content to a richer platform, and just link to it on social media.

What would you use for this?

We want to be able to "just write", without having to care about styling, hosting etc.

Five years ago we would have used Medium without a second thought, but we moved away from it as it became less and less usable. Has it improved again? Any other suggestion?

I recommend Ghost --> https://ghost.org/

Lighter than wordpress ad would fit your use case well.

Similar to Medium but developer-friendly, you could use dev.to or Hashnode

Want to run it yourself? Use Wordpress

Want to host it somewhere? Use WordPress.com

I've used Wordpress a long time ago and hated it.

I know multiple people who work with WordPress professionally and hate it.

Has there been recent improvements? I remember a terrible mess of tangled PHP that would easily break when performing minor changes.

How long ago? I've been running it for 15+ years across many instances ... have had hardly an issue in that time
