Further down the Wikipedia page you will find the following:

“In humans, the word female can also be used to refer to gender in the social sense of gender role or gender identity.[5][6]”

Could you be more specific? It seems that anyone could claim to be _an adult human female_. Is it social, biological, or perhaps a spectrum?

There is no such thing anymore.


I would think no. Even inside each single country, it is problematic to reach a generally accepted definition. Internationally it's basically impossible in my opinion.
