Show HN: A Podcast Q&A App Powered by GPT (drpawd.com)
4 points by abhi9u on March 27, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 4 comments
DrPawd is a GPT powered app for answering questions from podcasts. Not only does it provide the answer but also provides the timestamps in the relevant episodes where the hosts discuss the topic.

It also features a personalized episode page where the user can ask questions specifically to the episode, read summary of the episode and find related episodes which they might find interesting.

Right now some of the most popular podcasts such as HubermanLab, Peter Attia's TheDrive, StarTalk and Stuff You Should Know are supported with more to come.

This is still early stage and UI needs more refinements but happy to hear critical feedback.

What is the role of Vitamin K2?

> Vitamin K2 is important for cardiovascular health and calcium regulation. It is also vital for immune function, metabolic function, and hormone health. Many people are deficient in vitamin D3, even if they are getting what they think is sufficient sunlight. Vitamin D3 supports a huge number of metabolic factors, immune system factors, and endocrine factors. Vitamin D3 and K2 can be obtained from Athletic Greens, which offers a special offer of 10 free travel packs plus a year's supply of vitamin D3 K2 in the month of January.

Thanks for trying it out. Although I have given specific prompt instructions to exclude sponsor details from the answers but sometimes it still gets through. I will look into fixing it.

I asked the question “How do barcodes work?” expecting it to be an easy one; “Stuff You Should Know” had a (wildly fascinating) episode on it [0]. However, the response was “No results found.”

It might not have been indexed. Stuff You Should Know has a ton of episodes, I managed to index 50 odd recent episodes from their YouTube playlist. Their archive has 200+ more episodes, I will add those too. Thanks for trying :)

I plan to list the episodes which are indexed from each podcast in some convenient way so that it is more evident.

I know right now it seems a bit hard to discover what can be searched and UX could be better to help with that. I have some things planned to improve in that area. This is the first time people other than me are trying it out so I'm discovering the flaws :)
