Looks like it's experiencing the hn hug of death. I got one round of back-and-forth with the ai, and then it said it was overloaded

Just got the paid version running! Now shouldn't go down so often already haha

Two pieces of feedback:

1. If single letters like "c" or "i" are in the taboo list, that shouldn't prevent you from using any word that includes them too.

2. If the target word is hyphenated, like "Objective-C", it should be accepted with a space in place of the hyphen too.

Thanks for the feedback! I will update the game to enhance its ability to filter single letter as well as hyphenated words. Coming out with the perfect regex pattern is always challenging but fun at the same time!

Am I not understanding the game? Taboo: JavaScript

Q: Does it run in a web browser?

A: No, it is not a web browser. The software is not designed to run within a web browser.

I also asked if it compiles to js? Which is sort of cheating. It answered No. Fair enough.

You're not understanding the game. You need to ask a question that the AI will answer with the taboo word. It doesn't know what the taboo word is. So something like "What programming language is used in HTML documents?" would probably work.

Thanks. Still didn't work great.

Taboo: Erlang

Q: what language runs in the Beam VM

> It is not possible to say for sure what language runs in the beam VM, as the language is not exposed to the user. However, based on the type and structure of the code samples provided, it is likely that the beam VM runs in a Python or R language.

Edit: in another try the word was C so I wasn't allowed to use any words containing the letter c

The AI model I'm using is Curie 001, it is fast so that can provide player with faster response and smoother gameplay, however, the drawback is it is sometimes not as smart as its brother "davinci 003", so it might give dumb answers once in a while >_<!

Why are they calling it Taboo? It seems like Twenty Questions.

The difference is that the person who knows the answer (you!) is also writing the prompts. The game is to get the chatbot to say the target word without using the most obviously helpful phrases.

Overloaded. Wish it had that disclaimer on the landing page.

Cool when it works! I wish the taboo words were a little trickier (guessing Jasmine in the Disney Princesses pack allowed me to use the word Aladdin). 877.54! Would be a cool addition to show a scale that this is out of, or where it falls in the distribution of other people who have played that pack.

From some subsequent plays

- there's no "Play Again" option

- My word was "yachtmanship" and the string "The word you are looking for is "yachtmannship". A yachtman is someone who sails or owns a large pleasure boat, so yachtmannship refers to the art or practice of pleasurable sailing in a large boat." was a little rough to not match. I also got it to say "YachtmanShip", so it's case sensitive.

I just added in the "Play Again" button at the end of your results page :) And thanks for the feedback about ranking system. I am planning to add that in with "personal" and "global" ranking as well as past game results revisit feature in the upcoming V2 version of the game. Also I might add in "Daily Taboo" where all players compete to get the highest score possible with a set of fixed words each day. Stay tune for more updates ;)

Thanks for trying out the game! I just started paying for the AI API subscription, so now it shouldn't experience overload so often already :D

Thank you so much for liking and posting my game :)

Uhh, where do I see the list of guess words? Android Chrome.

The list of taboo words related to the target guess word will be shown to you at the bottom of the game, just below your input field. But if you are asking about the list of target words in one game, that is actually randomly selected out of a huge list of words under a particular topic. Each time the game will randomly choose 5 for you to play!

Hm, not convinced.

Category I chose: Whales

Whale AI chose: Humpback

Question: Does it have eyes?

AI: No it does not have eyes.

So, that's that.

That's not how you play. The AI doesn't know what word was chosen. You need to ask it questions that will make it include the chosen word in the answer.
