this is a bummer. I was hoping these would be used to sidestep the FAA BS they have been dealing with.

waiting more than a year for an environmental authorization to launch out of Boca chica.


You are confusing environmental clearance with a launch license. Environmental review was completed, with some required mitigations. Launch license is usually something that comes much closer to launch.


how long did the environmental clearance take? I confused nothing


Were they ready to launch, or conduct a static test prior to getting the license?

I am a huge SpaceX fan, I watch every NSF stream and that really did not appear to be the case.

We were all about 50/50 on if the OLM would even survive the static test.

The water deluge system was delivered only a couple days prior to static test.


Then why did it take so much longer after the environmental clearance was done?


How long do you feel that environmental assessment should have taken?

What qualifications/experience do you have that help you make that claim?


I still am kind of amazed that Space X is allowed to launch near a protected wetland. It must be so loud and there must be some pollution.
