It’s amazing that MS, despite its vast resources, hasn’t managed to improve this situation. Tiny, beleaguered NeXT had fat binaries for 4 architectures. Surely Redmond could solve this.
I mean this is more-less unwillingness of developers to compile for ARM. Look at Notepad++, Python 3 or VSCode, there are ARM version which works exactly same.
Simple Win32 applications are working fine, they will get emulated. I only don't understand why is it necessary to have GUI blurred when the application is emulated. You can see that even parts of the core windows dialogs are getting emulated due to this blurred GUI.
Apps like Dropbox, will recognize that you are installing them on ARM and will go just NOPE, not supported.
NeXT faced that same possibility, and they dealt with it by making it as easy as activating a single check box, so that it would be silly for developers not to.
