What the West Doesn’t Know About China’s Silicon Valley (wired.com)

Does anyone know of a Chinese HN equivalent? Seems like a lot of knowledge is not transmitted to the English tech community (as I've not heard of many of the things in the article).

https://v2ex.com/?tab=all but you won't find most information in the article on there, because it's either assumed background knowledge or irrelevant. E.g. many of the people that the article says "aren’t household names outside of China" aren't household names in China either, which is how Ning Ken could write a book about their history that was successful enough to get an English translation. (And in case you didn't notice, the article basically exists to promote the book and get you to click that Amazon link.)

Anyways, one other thing that the West doesn't know about China's Silicon Valley is that there's no single such place, instead the tech industry is spread across several major cities. E.g. look at the places mentioned in V2EX's jobs section: https://v2ex.com/?tab=jobs

谢谢. I thought I might also learn something from V2EX's ads, but they're geotargeting and serve up my local advertisers...

Or even any non-anglophone HN equivalents? Eg https://habr.com/ru/all/ ?

(now that we have Oceania and Eastasia mentioned, any good Eurasian non-anglophone resources? I'm aware that https://www.journalduhacker.net exists, but never contribute because while there is excellent stuff coming out of https://www.inria.fr/fr , in practise only the abstracts are francophone)
