Why Silicon Valley is applauding Elon Musk’s brutal crackdown at Twitter (businessinsider.com)

HN title is misleading. This isn't "Silicon Valley" as a whole, it's "tech executives," as the article states.

Even that is... pushing it, really. The people quoted are VCs, and some bitcoin guy.

I suspect every ruler is, not just in tech. Not every one of them has a mission that'll inspire such devoted employees, though. If you run a company and you need people, you need to give them enough that they want to stay working for you. The best conditions for an employer is where all your customers are flush with cash and all of your employees are in a horrible economy preventing them from asking for more or seeking employment elsewhere. B2B (which Twitter is) is a perfect setting for this.

I hope that the remaining Twits at least are compensated well enough in the now to take the risks.

I hope they will be able to cash their last paychecks when the curtain falls.

> To some founders, Musk is simply a monstrous version of the executive they wish they could be

I wonder how many would bother to use the qualifier, "monstrous"?
