I get you, but are you implying that we should only work on reducing one dimension of human cruelty at a time? That degree of serialization seems highly inefficient.
I agree with you 100%, my point was that being surprised at the capability of humans to be cruel, lack empathy, and destroy is itself a sort of lack of empathy and understanding - traits that ultimately lead to the first three traits I described
