If you're going to join Twitter, turn off contact discovery, use a throwaway e-mail, phone number, preferably post under a pseudonym, and disable the ability to look you up with an e-mail address. Also login with a VPN that you trust. This limits the blast radius in the event of a breach. I don't like blaming the victim here, but if all those people in the breach took those precautions, such a leak wouldn't have much of an impact.


Curious, what site do your recommend to get a VoIP number? Getting a throwaway real phone number isn't always an option, let alone a private one.
