Interesting, I only ever heard of "speed reading".
I personally can browse and move between short text blocks here and there extremely fast. But when it comes to longer text (article+), I'm a slow reader by nature. I just can't read fast. Maybe it is not that bad, after all.
Thanks for your comment! I think slower reading can certainly have its advantages. The Papyrus font has been shown to improve retention, as it is harder to read, forcing slower reading speed. By scrambling words, reading is further slowed. Articles I have read with this formatting are easier to recall, and only a bit slower to read. This is almost like a counterpoint to bionic reading, which allegedly increases reading speed.
