This appears very tech centric. Big legacy businesses and especially government, have gone insane over this stuff and are falling over each other to virtue signal about it. Maybe the whole thing was tech lead to some extent, but the ship is going to take a long time to turn around now.

Fundamentally this is about power, and there is so much new entrenched power created off the back of it that is not just going to be given up easily

people still want to defund the police, they are just too busy making rent

people dont want preferential treatment on university acceptance, because they want university for all.
