Overstating it, as usual from Business Insider.

Tech CEO's made the same not-so-dumb mistake that everyone else did, thinking there was at least more growth to come in 2022 than the few months early in the year.

Few people predicted Putin would reset the board with his invasion of Ukraine when he did, or that Ukraine would fight so valiantly and so long, or that Western led sanctions would be as extensive as they turned out to be.

De-globalisation started with Trump's tariff attack on China, Covid + lockdowns accelerated it, now Putin and Western response confirms that this is our new future.

You can either hedge for all that, or just grow-and-cut - both are legitimate choices, neither are mistakes


I dont know. I am not a genius. Not even close to be an average guy. But I do not understand why people thought that life would not go back. Were any signals that it could happen? Honest question really.
