I find the term itself very strange and hard to understand (I'm not a English native speaker).

"Data lineage" what does it even mean? Wouldn't it be better to call it "data tractability" since that is what this is about. Am I right?



Yes, the term itself is a bit confusing. However, it's an official term in the industry :')


I get it, but I still don't like it. Lineage sounds to me like you try to put your data in one line, like an aliment.
