They say alcohol death is big right now. Then they cite stats and cause from a couple years ago.

Are they intentionally avoiding addressing the present cause? IE the crazy inflation bumming everybody out.



It's not just alcohol. The surge in use of opiates was roaring a good 20 years before national attention started to emphasize it. Governments and media always seem to be behind the curve when addressing new problems that arise. Usually, a crisis or reality is needed to force the issue to our attention.


To cite present causes is to accuse the present administrators. Citing past causes is safer.

Maybe?

Or maybe citing causes after they've passed gives investors a chance to shift their investments before the hammer comes down.
