Yeah, I was gonna say … Sony was willing to sell PS3 on the promise you could run Linux on it, then take that capability away after the fact, so why would they not be willing to kill backward compatibility just as readily? Not "unpatchable" at all if Sony's willing to take that path.

True, but Sony may be looking for an excuse to no longer support older consoles and this could be that excuse.
