After discussing it many times, I am still sceptical if EU should "hardcode" in the law mandatory use of an old technology. Seeing the USB connection history (e.g. https://gct.co/usb-connector/usb-history-timeline) it is surely the incumbrance of the future developments.


Old technology? In what way? Why is that a bad thing to begin with?

The law explicitly includes a provision for future improvements, the USB Industry Forum are free to recommend new standards to augment or supersede USB-C.


Ports are archaic technology. Next they’ll mandate Facebook.
