How is a link to a 404 error on the front page of Hacker News? Do people upvote without actually clicking the link?

It was good when I posted it, I'm quite confused. The original link was https://www.missionjuno.swri.edu/junocam/processing and as you can see that works fine.

90% of the comments on hacker news are from people who clearly didn’t click the link. It’s usually some “slightly relevant” ramble about something that happened to them in 2006 :)

Logged in just to upvote.

Please resist the temptation to reflexively post your favorite sci-fi quote for clicks

As if millions of comments suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

But now I'm curious to know which quotes you're referring to...

Quoting cool lines to bond with others is a totally normal human thing that I do too, but that internet culture (and nerd culture in general) has reduced to a sort of performative insiderism.

I was about to do it, and then I saw your comment. You got me.

Apparently you pasted their 404 link: https://www.missionjuno.swri.edu/404
