The EPA declares a gallon of gas has 33.7 kWh equivalent. Electric vehicles are hella efficient, it's true, but this still looks on the face of it like paying $16.85/gallon for an "electric" gallon to me. It's absurd that gas costs 1/3rd as much, it's absurd that electricity would be so much more expensive.
