Once upon a time, back when StackOverflow was young and vibrant, I also used to ask and reply to questions. I enjoyed the site.
But after a little while the corrosive atmosphere I began seeing towards questioners made me walk away from the site.
The only time I see anything from StackOverflow these days is when one of my Google questions indicates an answer might be there. Otherwise I stay as far away from StackOverflow as possible.
Of course, YMMV.

I honestly don't get this. I put a lot of effort into making sure what I am asking is clear. I put code snippets wherever applicable, software versions, literally as much information I can think of. Sure, some of the answers to my questions turned out to be very simple, but isn't this the benefit of a site like stack overflow? To have someone with a fresh perspective to the problem offer solutions.
What was the correspondence around being banned? Did you get some sort of meta note? What did it say? Are you getting the "You can't post new questions right now" ban?
Here's the quote:
```
Sorry, we are no longer accepting questions from your account because most of your questions need improvement or are out of scope for this site. See the Help Center page Why are questions no longer being accepted from my account? to learn more.
Please do not create a new account. Instead, work on improving your existing questions by editing them to comply with the site's guidelines and address any feedback you've received. You can also continue to contribute to the site in other ways, such as editing other posts to improve them.
```
One note, I do occasionally edit other's posts to improve them, usually by fixing tags or small details in the question. So the only way to regain the ability to ask questions is to edit questions I've already asked.
