Apple is so powerful that millions of people are exited about ... wait for it .... an hour long informercial event. Man, that brand is something else. It's literally invaluable.

Plenty of companies hold announcements and whatnot, I hear. In fact people get excited for movie, tv, and game trailers (ads!!) to be released and go in person to discussion panels about upcoming products. It's wild out there!

Yes, I get excited about products that I may end up using 10+ hours per day. And it appears you get angered by people like me. Now tell me who is more irrational.

Glad to see the in person events are coming back! The prerecorded ones were just missing the fun.

I don’t think that this will be any more a live event than any other in the last couple of years. That page says “ Watch it live at apple.com.”. Nothing about “join us”.

Evidently the invites sent to the media included an RSVP to an in-person component:

> The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, and there will be an in-person component with members of the media invited to Apple's campus."

That sounds like a hybrid event like the WWDC in June. Journalists and influencers and some developers watching opening speeches and with a hands on opportunity.

Speculation at PetaPixel: "The imagery for the event is space themed, leading some to speculate astrophotography features are coming to the company's new smartphone."

Ironically, this was rumored from last year’s poster too, but nothing was announced.

> the perspective shifts up to linger on the stars above. That could suggest that the new iPhone could have an astrophotography mode.

Why specifically on the dev page?

No clue... but that's why I posted it here. If it had been a general PR thing then who cares. Unless it's developer-relevant because iOS.vNext has some breaking changes and it's about to drop?

New iPhone expected.
