Big display screens are mainly just a distraction --- a sales gimmick.

Give me a plain boring dash with a Bluetooth radio so I can talk hands free and play the 120 albums I have stored on my phone.


A gimmick but also faster development. No need to finalize the physical input controls in the dash before the software is ready.

I totally agree it's a bad option for the driver though. Especially for stuff you really need during the drive like climate controls



Mazda was right.
