Im much more worried about e-waste. If it costs more to run than modern hardware thats an issue for those in the used market / developing nations. E-waste becomes useless but when fashion is out of date it doesn't affect its use-fullness.

Yes – if they're not durable, they end up in the trash and if they're made with high-pollution materials which break down into a bunch of plastic fibers they're inherently more polluting and non-repurposable than things made using natural materials.
