I would argue against that, because I don't see any way that this projects supports either the internal or external policies of the kingdom - in order to support that, it would need to be realistic and credible, and its neither.

Its basically just like tradition. Each no person who want to be a big player in Saudi must announce a new future cities.

They have many already, all of them unfinished and unpractical. And then the money moves on the a new city of the future.

I think is basically just a status competition 'my city is gone be a revolutionary design'.

The guy after MBS will likely try a city in a spiral or something.
