Is this still a relevant approach compared to Native Postgres partitions?

This is native Postgres partitions. The only addition is pg_partman which helps with some automatic partition creation and pruning. In coming releases it is likely that partman won't be needed at all, but at the moment this helps smooth out the few remaining rough edges.
